Animal Reiki
Reiki is ideal for use with animals because it is gentle and noninvasive. It doesn't cause stress, discomfort, or pain, and yet yields powerful results. Animals, being in tune with the natural world, respond intuitively to Reiki's power to heal emotional, behavioral, and physical illnesses and injuries.

Application of Animal Reiki
For animals who are healthy, Reiki helps to maintain their health, enhances relaxation, and provides an emotional sense of peace and contentment.

For animals who are ill or injured, Reiki is a wonderful healing method as well as a safe complement to Western Medicine, Chinese Medicine, homeopathy, flower essences, and all other forms of healing. For example, Reiki can reduce the side effects of chemotherapy, support an acupuncture or acupressure treatment, and enhance the effects of all modalities.

For animals with behavioral issues, especially fear based aggression or anxiety, Reiki is a powerful tool to help them relax and stop the cycle of panic or anxiety. Reiki can work well with training sessions and behavior modifications to help speed up the desired results.

For animals in transition, Reiki is a powerful yet gentle way to provide comfort, relief from pain, fear, anxiety, and ease the transition.

Animal Treatments
The approach is key when working with animals and Reiki. Animals appreciate being given control of the treatment - in other words, being allowed to say "yes" or "no" to the treatment as well as determining the way the treatment will unfold.

• At Vibrant Expressions, owner and Reiki Master, Diana Gogan will always honor the animal's wishes.
• The animal is always asked directly for permission.
• The animal is always free to take as much Energy as they are open to receive or none at all.
• Generally, treatments will begin from a short distance away, from several feet to outside a pen or stall. This allows the animal to feel the Energy from a safe distance and initiate hands-on contact when and if they are ready.
• The animal is always permitted to move freely in the treatment space. A treatment space may be as large as a room, stall or pasture; or as small as a cage or aquarium.
• Reiki is always offered, never forced upon the animal.
• The length of the treatment is always determined by the animal patient. On average, treatments are between 45 - 60 minutes.

After the treatment is finished information from the session is discussed with the animal’s person/guardian. 

Treatment Programs
Although healing can be seen in one or two treatments, for continued health and well-being, all animals benefit most from a regularly scheduled program of Reiki. The number of sessions will vary based on the needs of the animal.  Depending on the circumstances, initial treatments may be on consecutive days or only few days apart and will then taper off into a maintenance cycle.
